Late Season Fix
Hey, I got all my bikes out and have gotten my legs back, but I still have that itch. My snowboard gear is still in the same pile from the last ride. “Last ride,” nonsense. Now more that ever, there is no last ride. Although April 15 is the last day of riding at most resorts in the states, you can still get a quick fix if you look around. Late season is my favorite time to ride. My skills are dialed in, there’s no waiting at the lift, and there’s a much better chance to see bikini clad bunnies. The snow is great too! Most resorts post 30-40 inches in April. Loveland, CO got 12” yesterday.

Price Point
I’m shopping for a new bike. A bike that wants to eat up the WORS series and make these endurance races seem like a lazy day at the beach. Well, that might be a stretch, but I am shopping for a good XC Bike. What I’m finding is big price differences from the brands that I’m checking out. I found the models that did what I wanted, except for the beach part, from their respective makers, Trek, Specialized, Gary Fisher, and Mongoose and started my work. Being the rider that I am and not so much a techgeek, I really had to do my homework when it came to comping the components from different manufactures like Manitou vs. Fox, Avid vs. Magura, Bontrager vs. Shimano vs. SRAM.
